Q. 1 How many of us think that smaller state in Bihar will not weaken it?
In my opinion, the current size of Bihar is robust and suitable to ensure its grown and prosperity over the long run. Currently, Bihar is 38 districts big in size, which is not too big to better govern it. I also believe many of us have only to benefit from united Bihar over the long run. However, few of us will favor dividing Bihar into smaller state.
This is why I have another question for the people of Bihar?
Q2. Shouldn't there be right policy put in place before dividing Bihar into smaller state?
We are aware that power to divide state is not in the hand our state of Bihar, but it is in the hand of the center in New Delhi. Therefore, first there should be good policy put in place before splitting Bihar into smaller state. For example, there should be a policy to set the minimum size of the smaller state. For instance, any smaller state in Bihar must not be less than 14 to 15 districts small. Otherwise we risk dividing Bihar unfairly making one state way big (more than 30 districts) and other very small (7 districts). This is not acceptable.
Therefore, my request to Bihar government and its people is that definitely consider the size of smaller state before dividing Bihar. And, it should make sure that weather it is Magadha, Mithila, or Bhojpur all should have right and equal size; for example, not less than 14 or 15 districts after split.
