Biharis in Mumbai shocked: Nitish ends up evoking Marathi sub-nationalism

Biharis in Mumbai, especially those who attended the Bihar Diwas celebrations on Sunday (April 15) were shocked to find no mention whatsoever of the leader and people of Bihar in it. Not only that there was not a single photo of any leader of the state for which crores of rupees were spent.

In fact it ended up as a Maharashtra Diwas function organized by 36 Janata Dal (United) leaders from Bihar who attended it.

Chief minister Nitish Kumar, who was the chief guest, started his speech in Marathi. He praised the contributions of Shivaji, Shahuji, Jyotibhai Phule, B R Ambedkar etc––all the great men produced by the state in the three hundred years.

No where in the function was any mention made about Lord Sachchidanand Sinha, who played a key role in the struggle for the creation of Bihar in 1912. The first President of India, Dr Rajendra Prasad, the first chief minister of Bihar, Shri Krishna Sinha, Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan, Jan Nayak, Karpoori Thakur etc all were forgotten. There was no photo of any of these great sons of Bihar either.

Biharis present in the function were shocked by the way Nitish Kumar surrendered abjectly to the diktat of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief, Raj Thackeray.

What is strange is that not a single leader of the alliance partner, the BJP, was present on the dais. The only person who got projection in this whole exercise was none else but the chief minister, Nitish Kumar, himself. Is it because the BJP stands for Bharatiya Janata Party and not Bihar Janata Party? Or for any other reason, as there is no prefix Bihar before Janata Dal (United) too.

Instead of speaking about the glorious past of Bihar, Nitish spoke about the great men of Maharashtra. The Biharis, who attended the function, were dejected by the way the whole show was organized. None of their problems were even remotely discussed not to speak of the killing of young boy like Rahul Raj and others in Mumbai.

“Here in Mumbai, day in and day out we hear about Shivaji. We and our young generation were here to know about the great men and women of Bihar and their contribution to the nation building. It is shocking that a leader like Nitish Kumar surrendered before a bully like Raj Thackeray,” was how one of them commented.

“If he wanted to raise the Maharashtra sub-nationalism why was Nitish here in Mumbai. There are enough people for this purpose here. What about Bihar Diwas then,” asked another.

Is Nitish ji feared of Raj Thakerey???????????????

His speach only on Maharastra shows something like this. When he told that he will have Bihar divas in Mumbai then I was very happy that Nitish ji is very courageous but after Bihar  divas celebration in Mumbai ...what I call him now? only a politician and not a Bihari.

"Overall we are Indian First", this tendency has caused us to fall. Ok why don't an Indian living in Punjab who calls himself Punjabi don't Fight and work for people dying for food in Odisha. aren't Odiyas Indians First ?? Why don't a Marathi Manus works or speaks for Manipur?? Aren't they Indian First ?? We Biharis lives in wonderland. Our ministers from Bihar wants to become Prime Minister of India but he don't want to do anything for Bihar. Aren't Biharis Indians First ??

My dear Friend, believe it or not, Regional Identity in India is the Greatest thing. In every Bollywood movie, Hero is always a Punjabi and villain is either a South Indian or Bihari, example: "Yuva", Why can't Punjabi film-makers makes their Hero as "Raj Paswan" instead of "Raj Chopra", Isn't Raj Paswan a Bihari name and an Indian First. They do it because they are Proud of their culture and believes i promoting their culture. They don't compromise with their identity. Whereas we Biharis are foolish people Fighting in the name of language and caste. After 10 years, you will see Bhojpuris and Maithilis Fighting among themselves on the basis of language. We can only Fight against each other and not together. This is the reason why Delhites and Mumbaikars say "Biharis are The Best slaves."

when Our leader will surrender in such way than what about our people and uplifting them in other states.....
